We did "Blind Date with a book". We wrapped the books in brown paper bags and wrote the barcode and some key terms on the front of the book.

Each student that borrowed a "Blind Date" book also got a little love heart chocolate. We had over 80 borrowings, although we haven't measured if they actually read the book in full!

An affirming exercise was the "Library Lovehearts". Throughout the day the students could write us a love heart. These hearts were then turned into a wall display.
For the staff room we also did a Word Search, some quote cards and a Clickview bookmark.

The day seemed to be successful with lots of students picking up books to read and weeks afterwards students were still reading their Blind Date books during Wider Reading.
